Support for participation by Japanese startups in the Japan-UAE Business Forum held in the UAE

The Japan-UAE Business Forum was held in the UAE on July 17, 2023. Top representatives of about 40 Japanese companies and organizations attended along with Prime Minister Kishida as an economic mission. The Japan-UAE Business Forum is hosted by the UAE Ministry of Economy, and is cosponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East. Many representatives of the public and private sectors in both Japan and the UAE attended this event, which offered an active exchange of opinions regarding collaborations and cooperation between the two countries.

The Japan-UAE Coordination scheme for Advanced Technology (JU-CAT) was ratified in January of this year between the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). Through the JU-CAT scheme, support is provided to Japanese startups participating in this event, along with support in establishing local business in the UAE.
